The sun was back out for us today so we could practise our throwing and catching. We also had lots of fun building and exploring.
We have been thinking about animals and their environments.We had a great discussion about why animals with a thick fur will prefer a cold environment over a warm environment.
We have been enjoying the glorious sunshine outside! We have been so creative with our dance moves!
We can read and make o'clock times and have started to learn to read and make half past.
This week we have been thinking about time. Today we decided to find out just how long 1 minute is. We realised that when sitting still in silence, a minute can seem like forever! But when busy, it is actually a short amount of time. Here we are seeing how many times we can write our names and numbers, counting our jumps, pegs and beads.
International Week - USA. We have all been exploring America learning lots of new facts. We have also had the opportunity to make crafts relating to The Statue of Liberty, The Bald Eagle and the American flag. We finished our session with a yummy piece of doughnut and a final cheer leading dance!

Exploring the BeeBots during Golden Time
On Thursday, Red and Blue Class had a special visitor called Dan from Pets at Home. He was carrying two boxes and we were so excited to see what was inside! There were 2 baby guinea pigs and 1 small Russian hamster. We learnt lots of information and were able to stroke the guinea pigs if we wanted to. Thank you so much for visiting us!
This term, Blue Class are extremely lucky as we are being taught Multi-Skills by Coach Chloe on Tuesday mornings. We had a great first session and worked hard in a team throughout.
WOW! What an amazing, incredible, spectacular... day! We have all had so much fun on our trip to Cotswold Farm Park. Miss Blay could not be any prouder of the children - their behaviour was fantastic and they loved every minute of their action packed day! We cannot wait to tell our family all about our trip. Thank you to all of the helpers who came on the trip and to Mummies and Daddies for providing lunch.

We have been thinking about why things float and why some things sink. We completed an investigation of choosing objects that we thought could carry our animals across the water. We had great fun predicting and used super language!

We have been reading the story 'The Rainbow Fish' and will be exploring it more detail next week in literacy. We have started to make clay fish for our new display based on 'The Rainbow Fish'.
We have been thinking about colours this term. We decided to investigate colour mixing and have set up an investigation using food colouring, kitchen roll and water. We are hoping that the tissue paper will absorb the coloured water and make new colours. We will keep you posted!
This afternoon we had a very special visitor come and see Blue and Red Class. His name was Ollie and he is a vet from Dragon's Vet Surgery. He explained about his job and the animals he looks after. He even brought a friend with him; Henry the 10 year old tortoise who was very hungry! We learnt lots of information from Ollie and we would like to say a huge thank you for taking time out to come and see us.
Yesterday afternoon, we were very busy planting grass in our tuff tray. We discussed how to look after the grass making sure we water it and place it in the sun. We are looking forward to observing the growth in the next couple of weeks

We were lucky enough to have Samuel's pet African snail, Timmy, visit us on Thursday. Today, we also looked at Samuel's butterflies. We let them go as a year group and it was wonderful watching them fly away. Thank you so much Samuel!

Summer term topic letter for parents
Excellent Easter Projects! Wow, Miss Blay was so impressed with all our creative and informative pet projects you have completed. We were very proud of our work and spoke confidently about it. Come and see our incredible display! Thank you Mummies and Daddies for helping us!
What better way to end our fantastic term then to go on an Easter Egg hunt set by the Easter Bunny! We had to look high and low to find some delicious chocolate eggs. Thank you to PTFA for the donations of eggs!

World Book Day! We had so much fun celebrating all the wonderful books by dressing up and sharing stories with 3TC.

We have been busy creating our collage bears for a display. They look super!
Exploring teen numbers practically.
As our story telling project is Golidlocks and the Three Bears, we decided to make some porridge and see why the bears loved it so much. We got to choose if we wanted to add blueberries and jam to it. It was delicious!
We had so much fun for our Dance-a-thon this morning. We all danced our hearts out for 30 minutes WITHOUT stopping. Miss Blay was so proud of our funky moves!
This week, we baked our own gingerbread man cookies. They were tasty!
Blue Class were invited down to Orange Class to read the children's stories of Handa's Hen. We loved looking at their lovely writing and beautiful pictures. We hope to invite them up soon to show them our work!

On our journey this week, we each made a sketch map. Some of us chose to draw and some chose to write. Miss Blay was so impressed!
This week in PE we have been consolidating our jumping and underarm throwing techniques. We have also started learning different rolls - an egg roll, rock and roll and a pencil roll. Finally we also practised catching a ball in front of us.

We went back on our exciting Gingerbread Man journey. This time we made our own journey strings to show where we had been on our journey. We thought carefully about what to put on our strings, we had to make sure that it reminded us of our journey. We think they look great!

Our Gingerbread Man escaped again! He left a note telling us that he felt a bit lonely and that he wanted us to make him a gingerbread friend. We had to retrace our steps to complete the same journey but this time at each place, he left clues for us to find different ingredients/equipment needed in order to bake him a friend. We had great fun thinking about what is needed when baking a gingerbread man.

Christmas Party Day with all of our friends in Reception. We made up some special dances to say goodbye to Mrs Hanvey.
In PE, we have been exploring how to travel imaginatively on apparatus rather than just walking along benches/tables. We have also been practising our jumping. We know that we have to bend our knees, swing our arms and look at where we want to land.

Christmas Workshop Day! Wow, what an amazing and fun packed day. We started the day off making lots of lovely Christmas crafts which followed by a surprise visit from Father Christmas and his naughty little elf! We told him that we had been good and he gave us a bag of presents. We continued our crafts in the afternoon before completing some Zumba dancing. Finally, we relaxed with pop corn and drinks to watch our two Christmassy films for our first ever Movie Magic. What a fantastic day!
Storybox Theatre. Wow, what a special treat for us all. Today, we went over to the junior school to watch Jack and the Beanstalk told by the Storybox Theatre. It was truly magical.
